Why was pure vitamin C
made into powder?

While pure vitamin C has excellent skin penetration and effectiveness,
it is difficult to stabilize and is prone to browning and oxidation
depending on the surrounding environment. To compensate for
these shortcomings, vitamin C derivatives are sometimes used,
but pure vitamin C is more effective.
